What is safety capacitor and why we need it?
Safety capacitors that do not cause electric shock and do not jeopardize personal safety when the capacitor fails. Safety capacitors are usually only used for filtering in anti-interference circuits. They are used in power filters to provide power filtering for common mode and differential mode interference. For safety and EMC reasons, it is generally recommended to add safety capacitors to the power supply inlet.
There are many types of safety capacitors in the market, the most common being X1/X2 and Y1/Y2 safety capacitors.
