Do you know how to calculate the ripple current of a tantalum capacitor?
First we give the formula as below:
In this formula ,
I is the maximum allowable ripple current (A).
P is the power dissipation (mW).
ESR is the equivalent series resistance (mΩ).
K is the temperature derating factor.
F is the frequency derating factor.
The temperature derating factor K and frequency derating factor F vary under different temperature and frequency conditions.
Below are the corresponding parameters for UF Capacitors’ CA45 series and CA55 series under specific conditions.
