Currently, the main commonly used ones are CL21 metallized polyester film capacitors, CBB21/CBB21B metallized polypropylene film capacitors, CBB81 high-voltage metallized polypropylene capacitors, and X2 metallized polypropylene film capacitors.
CL21 has been replaced by CBB21 capacitors for the most part, and is not used much anymore.
CBB21. CBB81 are non-inductive capacitors, suitable for use in higher frequency occasions.
X2 belongs to the safety capacitors, is made of metallized zinc-aluminum polypropylene film, its surge voltage resistance is very strong, generally used in the input power filter.
The use temperature of film capacitors:

Many people will be concerned about the heat generation of film capacitors. Do CBB film capacitors get hot or not?
1. CBB film capacitors do heat up, but the amount of heat is not large.
Theoretically speaking, CBB capacitor will not heat up, because it belongs to the energy storage element, theoretically it will not occur when using power loss, so it will not heat up. Ideal capacitor is no loss, but this is only ideal, the reality of the capacitor there is an equivalent resistance, which makes the ripple in the equivalent resistance to produce a change in the current. When the ripple voltage occurs at the two ends of the capacitor, it makes the voltage at the two ends of the capacitor change constantly and creates a varying current, or even intermittent pulsating power, which makes the polarons in the dielectric material of the capacitor oscillate, which generates heat and leads to heating of the capacitor.
So although theoretically speaking CBB film capacitors do not produce heat, but in fact will heat up, but the heat will not be too large, the heat is not very obvious, the life of the capacitor does not have much impact.
2.CBB film capacitors work why will be obvious heat?
Possible reasons: ripple current is too large, withstand voltage is too high and so on, these are capacitors modeling improperly lead to, CBB film capacitors modeling error, may indeed lead to capacitance work when the obvious heat.
Possible cause two: CBB film capacitors around other heat-generating electronic components, due to heat dissipation is not smooth, resulting in CBB capacitor temperature, this belongs to other electronic components caused by heat conduction.
Possible cause three: bought a cheap poor quality CBB film capacitors, due to the price war, many small factories without brand CBB capacitors will use poor quality film, this film is easy to breakdown, the aging of the medium is too fast, the life expectancy is also reduced, if serious, it will become a thermal breakdown, resulting in damage to the capacitor. So buy poor quality CBB capacitors may appear capacitor obvious heat, short life, easy to damage the phenomenon.
