High Voltage (HV Capacitors) ceramic capacitors are economical capacitors, with high reliability performance. HV Capacitors are ideally suited for applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS, and high voltage coupling, DC blocking, by-pass circuit.

High voltage ceramic capacitors have two kinds of dielectric (multilayer & disc ceramic ) in current production.

A. For Multilayer Dielectric: NPO/COG, X7R.

This kind of HV capacitors have a multilayer chip MLCC inside, and epoxy coating outside. Some epoxy color is yellow, while like Murata, they produce RPE series radial MLCC with blue epoxy coating.

Actually blue or yellow epoxy are the same for Moisture-proof and fire-proof class.
